Vicky Wee

World Health Organisation Council

SCIMUN WHO Chair, Vicky, is a junior at Quality School International of Shenzhen (QSIS). She came to Shenzhen China when she was two years old and joined QSI when she was five. She started her Modeled UN career in the year 2019 with SWISMUN and chaired in SCIMUN VII. Vicky believes that a Best Delegate have the qualities of accurately representing their country stances and a bold resolution. Vicky is excited to see all delegates in WHO committee and looks forward to establish a wonderful time in SCIMUN 2022.

Alon Ben Rafael

World Health Organisation Council

SCIMUN WHO committee chair, Alon, is a senior at Quality Schools International of Shenzhen (QSIS). He is Chinese/Israeli and has been studying at QSI for the past five years. Having attended four previous MUN conferences, Alon is an adaptive and quick learner. He earned his first award of outstanding delegate from SCIMUN the year prior and has not stopped bragging about it to his friends since. Alon feels ready to take the next step in his MUN career and is excited to be working with fellow delegates of the WHO committee as a first-time chair. He expects active participation and consistency of country representation from all delegates; and hopes for a pleasant learning experience for all.

Nadia Woo

Human Rights Council

SCIMUN 2023 Human Rights Council chair, Nadia Woo, is a senior at ISNS. She is greatly interested in discussions around social issues and aspires to be a gender studies and law student. She is a overtly cat-obsessed cat mom, a half-time unprofessional photographer, and an avid musical fan. She is very honored to be a part of SCIMUN 2023. Nadia looks forward to seeing the debates and resolutions on the HRC topics for this year :)

Sam Zhang

Human Rights Council

Sam, a junior in QSI is the Secretary for SCIMUN 2023, as well as the President Chair of HRC. He attended three conferences before SCIMUN and is excited to continue the tradition of MUN as a cabinet member. He is from the United States where he spent most his life until he came to QSI at the age of 12. Some of the traits Sam believes that delegates of MUN should consider is to accurately represent their countries and present unique points. Sam is excited to be a part of the cabinet member with the rest of SCIMUN 2023 an unforgettable experience for everyone.

Alexandra Gutnik

Human Rights Council

Alexandra Gutnik is a junior at QSI Shenzhen. She is from Ukraine but was born and raised in China, which allowed her to be open-minded to new perspectives. Alex was introduced to MUN as a freshman, and soon was in awe with how it imitates global issues. Since then, she has attended various conferences, both as a delegate and as a chai. She is also currently serving as the Chief of Marketing for SCIMUN. In a Best Delegate, she values active quality participation, and accurate country representation. She is delighted to be part of the team, and is excited to meet everyone at the upcoming conference.

Catherine He

United Nations Development Programme

Catherine He is a junior at Quality School International (QSI). She is born in Hong Kong and has been living in Shenzhen for most of her life. She attended her first MUN conference as an 8th grader and has been fascinated by the world of international relations ever since. Catherine believes that the Best Delegate should be able to stick to their country’s stance and stay professional at all times. She looks forward to meeting everyone at the conference.

Jackie Nie

United Nations Development Programme

Chairing for SCIMUN 2023 United Nations Development Programme is chair Jackie Nie. Attending Quality International School (QSI) since he was 5, Jackie is relatively fluent in his linguistic abilities. He considers himself to be exemplary in the economics domain, and also feels confident in his debating skills. Despite only having one year of MUN experience, Jackie was able to attend a total of 5 different conferences (u2nesco, SCIMUN 2022, HMUN, SISMUN, SCIEMUN), and received an outstanding delegate award in the Historical Committee and the best delegate award during ECOSOC, rendering him an adequate candidate for this crucial position. Moreover, he strives to seek delegates that exemplify exceptional levels of leadership, public speaking, determination, intelligence, and resolution writing skills in the conference. Hence, he is excited to see the capabilities of the fellow delegates and is more than delighted to collaborate with them to form a resolution to tribulations plaguing the world.

Jane Li

Security Council

Jane Li is a senior at Shen Wai International School (SWIS). While she was born in Canada, she moved to Shenzhen at the age of 5 and spent most of her time studying in Shenzhen. Jane first joined MUN in 8th grade at Shekou International School (SIS), and she is currently the student leader of the SWIS MUN club, where she holds meetings and  conferences. SCIMUN 2023 will be Jane’s 10th MUN conference, and 5th as a chair. Jane believes the best delegate should be able to construct a well-rounded and feasible resolution, collaborate effectively with other delegates, and represent their country’s stance in their resolution and speeches. She is looking forward to working with other delegates and chairs in the Security Council to discuss and create effective resolutions.

Jennifer Wang

Security Council

Jennifer Wang is a junior at Quality School International Shenzhen (QSIS). She is from the United States of America and has been studying at QSIS for the past 11 years. As an individual who has participated in several conferences in the past, Jennifer is fully ready to display professionalism as a chair of the Security Council this year. She is avidly passionate about debate and Model United Nations and hopes to pass that passion on to her delegates. Jennifer believes that a Best Delegate should actively participate in the debate, work consistently and honestly, and remain professional at all times. She looks forward to working with other delegates to create a memorable conference for all.

Disarmament Committee

CiCi is a sophomore at the International School of Nanshan Shenzhen (ISNS). Her Model UN journey began in 2021, and she is excited about spreading her passion for this event to the delegates of SCIMUN 2023. CiCi values accurate country representation, leadership, and confidence. She wishes to witness these essential traits in a Best Delegate, as well as strong critical thinking skills, collaboration abilities, and professionalism. She looks forward to the conference!

Stephen Chen

Disarmament Committee

SCIMUN Disarmament Chair, Stephen Chen, is a junior at the Quality Schools International of Shenzhen. Stephen is knowledgeable in debate and MUN. He attended SCIMUN first in 2019 and has participated in numerous MUNs since then. Stephen believes the best delegate is an individual who is not afraid to stand on the side of logic and honor even when the masses are against them. The best delegate should raise quality POIs and deliver strong and coherent arguments.
