Do Heon (Jack) Kim 

Disarmament Commission 

Do Heon (Jack) Kim is a freshman at Utahloy International School of Zengcheng, China. Jack was born in Seoul, South Korea. He was raised in China since he was 1. Since Jack was a kindergartener, he went to variety of schools located in different parts of China and Hong Kong. Jack was able to socialize and communicate with people from different backgrounds and culture, which allowed Model United Nations to be more meaningful to Jack. Jack attended 5 MUN Conferences, getting Honorable Delegate. Jack is also going to two other conferences in the next 14 days. Jack is currently the House Captain, Sports Captain and boys’ basketball team captain. Jack believes that a Best Delegate should be balanced with several different factors including coherent communication, appropriate attitude and consistent contribution to the conference. As a chair of SCIMUN’s disarmament committee, Jack is willing to make a productive, comfortable and an unforgettable conference for all delegates.

Maylin Quinn

Disarmament Commission 

Maylin Quinn is an S2 at QSI Secondary in Shenzhen, China. She was born in China but lived in Norway until she was 4 (then she moved back to China). She speaks three languages (English, Chinese, and Norwegian) and is hoping to someday expand her language skills even further. She has been participating in MUN since middle school (7th grade) and has constantly attended conferences. So far, she has participated in 5 conferences. At school, she is involved in many clubs (major ones being Drama and Art) and a part of student council. As a chair for SCIMUN 2020, she hopes to get along with both chairs and delegates and hopes everyone can have an enjoyable time at SCIMUN 2020.

Sean Blaise Holt 

Human Rights Committee 

Sean Blaise Holt is a sophomore at Utahloy International School Zhengcheng (UISZC). Born in Australia, he came to China in 7thgrade. And since then he has participated in 7 MUN conferences and was awarded best delegate 3 times. Sean is a very enthusiastic student at UISZC and likes to participate in activities including film-studies and drama.

Hsuan Jung (Ann) Tang 

Human Rights Committee 

Ann is a junior at Quality School International Shenzhen (QSIS). She was born in Taipei, Taiwan and later moved to Shenzhen, China with her family. She had been to 7 MUNs in total and SCIMUN 2020 will be her 8th and 3rd time chairing. Besides MUN, Ann is also an active member of Dance club and Dragon Media Network, as well as treasurer for the International Thespian Society. As chair of HRC for SCIMUN 2020, Ann promises to bring to all delegates an unforgettable and entertaining MUN conference.

Wong Hei Lui (Helen) 

Human Rights Committee 

Wong Hei Lui (Helen) is currently 15 and is a junior at Utahloy International School ZengCheng (UISZ). She was born in Hong Kong, China, she grew up in Hong Kong but moved to mainland China at the age of 7. The first MUN conference she participated in was when she was 10 years old in year 6. Helen has participated in more than 10 conferences and has received more than 4 awards as a delegate and has chaired for at least 4 conferences. In school, Helen also participated in many leadership roles, she currently the deputy Secretary General of U2NESCO and UISZ school captain. For the past 2 years she was the class representative and for the past year she was the house captain. As the SCIMUN 2020’s HRC Chair, she hopes to encourage more delegates to take part in debates, to create a memorable and fruitful conference for delegates and hopes that everyone can achieve their goals in this conference.

Tsz Ki Cheung (Nana)

Security Council

Nana is a sophomore at Quality Schools International (QSI) of Shenzhen. She was born in Hong Kong and started attending QSI when she was 5. Starting at the age of 13, she has been participating in multiple MUN conferences and has been awarded 2 Outstanding Delegates and 1 Most Achieved Delegate. She is currently the Vice President of QSI MUN Club. MUN is about working together to resolve a global issue and she believes cooperation is the most important trait when it comes to a Best Delegate. She is really looking forward to this conference and hopes for a pleasant experience with all her delegates.

Wilson Yao

Security Council

Wilson is a senior year student attending Nansha College Preparatory Academy. Marking SCIMUN 2020 as his 19th conference, Model UN is Wilson’s passion throughout his high school career. Having grown up in the international city of Shenzhen, Wilson is very enthusiastic about social research and international affairs. Additionally, spending time in Xinjiang, China and Central Asia has made Wilson more than interested in ethnic and cultural studies. Wilson serves as the President of the Student Government and the Secretary General of South China Model United Nations in his school. Chairing the UNSC this year in SCIMUN, Wilson is excited to see creative thinking being made to solve interconnected and complex issues such as the Venezuela Crisis and civilian protection in the Middle East.

Ara Jung

UN Development Program

Ara Jung is a grade 11 student of Quality Schools International (QSI) of Shenzhen China. As a Korean living in China, she is able to speak and write in Chinese, Korean, English, Spanish and Cantonese. She has started her MUN career during her freshman year and have not stopped being active from then on. She has been to several conferences as delegate and two conferences as chair. She is expected to be chair for the UNDP committee of SCIMUN 2020 and will dedicate her time to create a memorable experience for her delegates.

Bhumija Sakpal

UN Development Program

Bhumija Sakpal is a senior at Shen Wai International School (SWIS) in Shenzhen. Born in Mumbai, India, she has been raised in China for more than 10 years. Living in an international community like Shenzhen allowed her to learn new cultures and make friends from all around the globe. Bhumija started her MUN journey in Grade 9 being the Secretary General, and since then till now has maintained a high position in the team, for the first two years she delegated many conferences however since junior year she has been chairing at all the conferences she has been to. Actively part of service and athletics teams in school and receiver of EARCOS Global Citizenship Award Bhumija continues her passion for service and sports, being the house captain and the Model United Nations President at her school. As SCIMUN 2020’s UNDP Chair, she pledges to make a very entertaining yet professional conference for all the delegates participating in SCIMUN 2020.

Jun Ho (Alex) Lee

Economics and World Health Organisation 

Jun Ho (Alex) Lee is a Junior at Quality Schools International of Shenzhen. Born in Busan, South Korea, Alex came to China at an age of 1. From 8th grade, he has been continuously participating in a total of 7 MUN conferences and was awarded with a best delegate and an outstanding delegate award. Alex not only did dedicate himself to academic life at QSI but also did various extracurricular activities ranging from sports to music, and also three honor societies. SCIMUN 2020 will be his second time chairing in his MUN career, and he wishes to see active participation and creative resolutions from all delegates.

Caisa Quinn

Economics and World Health Organisation 

Caisa Quinn is a senior at QSI Shenzhen and the Chief Marketing Officer of SCIMUN's 2020 conference. For this reason, she has a more thought-out bio that can be found on this page. With this being her third and final chairing experience, Caisa hopes to engage and mentor delegates with an exhilarating conference. As she is passionate about debate, addressing current global affairs, and has extensive experience as a delegate, Caisa looks forward to sharing bits of wisdom and perhaps even some snacks with her committee.

Ken Wu

1994 Historical Committee

Ken Wu is a senior at Shen Wai International School that enjoys following Middle Eastern politics, especially political issues related to Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen, and studying philosophy. Beginning his MUN journey in tenth grade, Ken has had the privilege of participating in seven MUN conferences, having chaired and organized two conferences.

As a chaos theory lover, Ken looks forward to seeing delegates of the future debate events of the past to change the present that we coexist in – in other words, observe speculative butterfly effect in action.

Flora Meng

1994 Historical Committee

Flora Meng is a senior from the International School of Nanshan Shenzhen. Born in Shenzhen, Flora moved to Canada in grade one and returned to China in the eighth grade. She started MUN her freshman year and has been active in the activity ever since (SCIMUN; UN4MUN diplomat award; Harvard MUN Outstanding Delegate). Most recently, Flora chaired for the security council at SWISMUN. With a burning passion for debate, Flora looks forward to seeing passion and confidence in delegates when it comes to public speaking. She is also a firm believer in diplomacy and hopes that delegates in the historical committee possess a collaborative spirit and a willingness to compromise in the face of clashing interests and conflicts. Finally, Flora hopes that all delegates, regardless of experience or expertise,  muster the courage to engage actively in committee sessions so that everyone can gain the most out of their SCIMUN experience!
