Do Heon (Jack) Kim 

Disarmament Commission 

Jack is a Junior in Utahloy International School of Zeng Cheng (UISZC). While he was born in South Korea, he spent most of his life studying abroad, living in places like Shenzhen, Dongguan and Hong Kong. Starting from grade 8, he participated numerous MUNs, ranging from U2NESCO, SCIMUN, XIAMUN, SCMUN, etc. Jack is currently the head of chairs in U2NESCO, President chair of G20 in U2NESCO and School President. Jack believes that a best delegate should be someone who finds an equilibrium between knowledge, communication and cooperation, rather than someone who is slanted towards on aspect. He is looking forward to meeting new delegates and making the most out of the upcoming SCIMUN 2021.

Maylin Quinn

Disarmament Commission 

Maylin Quinn is a junior at Quality Schools International (QSI) of Shenzhen. She has been doing MUN for 5 years and attended 7 conferences. She has been chairing since 2019. She is involved in multiple clubs, societies and extracurricular actives at school and enjoys doing volunteer work. When it comes to looking for a Best Delegate, she believes that a delegate should maintain their country’s stance throughout the conference, but also be reasonable enough to listen to different opinions in order to cooperate with other delegates to come up with an appropriate solution for the global issue being addressed.

Karen Lai

Disarmament Commission 

Karen is currently a junior at SIS and this is her fifth year in MUN. She is glad that this year is her first charing experience as an associate chair in SCIMUN Disarmament, and she is looking forward to the conference in March. Karen has attended MUN conferences at BEIMUN, MYMUN in previous years and SISMUN this year due to the pandemic. She is currently a student leader at the MUN club in her school this year, helping to plan weekly meetings at SIS. Karen believes that the best delegate should be experienced with a solid understanding regarding his/her committee’s topics. Furthermore, she believes that the best delegate should be willing to help others improve during the conference as well. She is extremely excited for the conference!

Hsuan Jung (Ann) Tang 

Human Rights Committee 

Ann Tang is a senior at Quality School International (QSI) Shenzhen. She was born in Taipei, Taiwan but moved to Shenzhen, China with her parents at the age of 3. Studying in an international city, Shenzhen, for over 14 years allowed Ann to experience the cultural diversity, and thereby gained a broader understanding of the world. During her first year in high school, Ann was fascinated by the furious debates in Model UN and started her MUN journey. Having been to 9 conferences as a delegate, a chair, and secretary, Ann is fully competent as a chair. Besides MUN, Ann also have strong interests in dancing, broadcasting, and soccer; she is also a member of the International Thespian Society (ITS) and National Chinese Honour Society (NCHS). As the president chair of HRC and Secretary, Ann looks forward to meeting everyone in SCIMUN 2021.

Si Won (Sean) Yang

Human Rights Committee 

Sean is a junior at Quality Schools International QSI Shenzhen. He was born in Yeosu, Korea, but moved to China when he was ten. Since his first MUN experience in 2016, Sean has been actively participating as a delegate in MUN including SCIMUN and U2nesco. He has a chair experience in SWISMUN (HRC) as well. Sean firmly believes that one of the most essential aspects to have as a delegate is the ability to express oneself clearly. He believes it is significant that all the delegates in the room participate, whether they are experienced or not, to come up with the best resolution together with numerous speeches and countless amendments. Sean is excited to have a meaningful conference with a group of amazing delegates.

Eva Zhong

Eva is a junior at Shekou International School (SIS). This is her fifth year participating in MUN, and this time she will be serving as the president of ECOFIN. She has attended conferences as both a delegate and a chair, and is currently a student leader at the MUN club in her school. She believes that Best Delegate should be awarded to an individual who has a holistic understanding of the issue, providing truly constructive ideas that enhances the quality of debate. Dominic Kim

 Dominic is a junior at the QSI International School of Shenzhen, Secondary. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, and has attended QSI his whole life. In middle school, he was not privy to the opportunities afforded by MUN; however, in high school, he has now avidly partaken in MUN conferences, to the extent that he has been able to chair multiple conferences. He prides himself in being the vice president of Mu Alpha Theta, vice president and co-founder of Investing club, vice president of Business Club, recipient of several delegate awards, member of multiple honor societies, member of Student Council, and such feats. He looks for consistency in a best delegate as he believes that under heated moments, delegates’ true capability becomes evident.

Seo Yeon Jo

Economic and Financial Council

SEO YEON is a senior at KIS International School. She is a Korean studying in China. She has participated in AIMUN. She is currently the co-president of KIS MUN Club and helped KIS MUN Club to organize MUN orientation programs for beginners. Since MUN is a stimulation of reality, she thinks focusing on how well the interest of a country was represented is one of the most important criteria to access a delegate. Furthermore, she believes that raising reasonable amendments to improve a resolution paper while having active interaction with other delegates is especially important when it comes to a Best Delegate. She truly hopes for a memorable experience with all her delegates in SCIMUN 2021.

Caisa Quinn

Caisa Quinn is a graduate from QSI Shenzhen’s class of 2020. Due to covid she was required to take a gap year and has been using this time to gain work experience and do freelance projects. She is hoping to study business/law. Caisa was an active member of the MUN community at QSI and served as the Chief Marketing Officer for SCIMUN last year. She has won several awards and enjoys coaching writing and debate for students. Participating in MUN is one of the best ways to develop critical thinking, research, and debate/negotiation skills, and Caisa believes a “best delegate” is one that demonstrates excellence and growth in these areas throughout a conference.

Ji Hae (Janice) Kim

Janice, is a sophomore at Quality School International of Shenzhen (QSIS). She is from South Korea but began her school career in QSIS since the young age of 2Y.O. She attended her first Model UN conference when she was 12 years old and earned her first award the following year. Janice believes that the most valuable qualities in a Best Delegate is the ability to formulate innovative resolution ideas and accurately represent their own country. She is looking forward to working with the other G20 chairs and delegates in her committee to make SCIMUN 2020-2021 an unforgettable Model UN for all.

Michael Chan

Michael is a senior at Quality Schools International (QSI) of Shenzhen. He was born in Taiwan Province of China and started attending QSI when he was 13. Starting at the age of 14, he has been participating in multiple MUN conferences and has earned multiple awards. He is one of the cofounder of AIMUN. MUN is about resolving global issues in professional manner, hence, he believes professionalism is the most important trait when it comes to awards. Jun Ho (Alex) Lee

Alex is a senior at QSI Shenzhen and the Chief Marketing Officer of SCIMUN's 2021 conference. For this reason, he has a more thought-out bio that can be found on this page. With this being his third and final chairing experience, Alex hopes to provide an exhilarating conference and mentor delegates. He believes that the most crucial characteristic of a best delegate is the ability to represent his or her designated country effectively and accurately.

Ian Kim

World Health Organisation Council

Ian is a junior at QSI and has attended 4 MUN conferences, with experience as a runner, delegate, and chair. At school, he is the president of Investment club, and the vice president of the AOPS club. He is and has been part of the student council for 2 years, where he partakes in various school activities, and is part of Mu Alpha Theta. He has attended QSI International Schools since he was 4, and plans to graduate there in the foreseeable future. Ian is regarded by many of peers as very academically inclined, and has consistently surpassed the expectations of many. Ian typically regards best delegates as those who are diplomatic, yet bold when necessary. Ian believes that the best delegate is not always the most talkative one, and rather, it is one that is effective in getting their message across; sometimes, less is more.

Chae Min (Rachel) An

Rachel was born in South Korea and moved to Shenzhen, China at around the age of 9. She is a sophomore in Quality Schools International of Shenzhen (QSIS). Since her first MUN conference at the age of 12, she continued her passion in MUN by participating in numerous MUN conferences. MUN is all about professionalism, so the Best Delegate award would be given to the delegate who shows professionalism and displays their thorough understanding of procedure and rules of MUN throughout the whole conference.

Ken Wu

Ken Wu is a freshman at New York University Shanghai that enjoys following Middle Eastern politics, especially political issues related to Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen, and studying philosophy. Beginning his MUN journey in tenth grade, Ken has had the privilege of participating in seven MUN conferences, having chaired and organized two conferences. As a chaos theory lover, Ken looks forward to seeing “delegates of the future” debate events of the past to change the present that we coexist in – in other words, observe the speculative butterfly effect in action.

Su Yeon (Sunny) Yang

Sunny is a sophomore attending QSI international school of Shenzhen. She was born in South Korea and moved to China at the age of 9. She started attending QSI in the same year she came to China and has attended QSI ever since. She has attended 5 different MUN conferences in total, with an Outstanding Delegate award from her most recent MUN experience. Even though MUN is an entertaining experience, she believes the delegates should be able to represent their countries’ stance with certainty. Confidence and accuracy are only a few of the traits she is looking for in Best Delegates. Sunny is excited to share her first chairing experience with everyone and hopes it will be a memorable conference for all delegates.

Peipei Song

Peipei is a senior at Quality Schools International (QSI) of Dongguan. She was born in Taiwan and began attending QSI at the age of 4. Since her freshman year, she has participated in multiple MUN conferences in China. She is experienced with chairing and is currently the Vice President of the QSID MUN Club. In order to solve conflicts the world is facing, she believes delegates should treat each other with respect and use their creativity to come up with original resolutions, qualities that she will be looking for when selecting a Best Delegate.
